Obituary of Barbara Jean Currie

Barbara Currie, 88, passed away May 12; she was lovingly taken care of at Lake Hills Inn and Hospice of Havasu. She was born in Eureka, California. Growing up in Humboldt County and the San Francisco Bay Area, in 1963 she moved to Star Valley and later to Jackson, Wyoming.
Following graduation from high school and during training as an X-ray technician, she fell in love with a sailor named Bill, and for the next 68 years they were happily married, until his passing on May 5, 2013. She and her husband worked hand-in-hand in the construction industry. In 1986 they moved to Lake Havasu City and continued in construction. Both she and her husband were volunteers for many years at the Lake Havasu Senior Center, and both enjoyed working there.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Currie; her parents, Lawrence and Martha Tabor; brothers, Lawrence Jr., Norman and Gordon Tabor; and grandson, John Currie.
Barbara is survived by sons, William M. Currie and wife Linda of Thorn Bay, Alaska, and Randall J. Currie of Lake Havasu City; daughter, Debbie M. Lanier of Santan Valley, AZ; brother, Charles Tabor; grandchildren, Amy Duffield, Cindy Gese, Kim Harris, Bob Currie, Sabrina Currie and Clayton Currie and several great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
