Obituary of John Thomas Ryan

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family of John T. Ryan (63) announces his passing due to a fatal car accident here in LHC. He was accompanied by his beloved dog, Lulu who also lost her life. John was born, raised and lived in the Chicago area most of his life. He also lived in the state of Georgia for a few years before moving here to Lake Havasu City to join the rest of his family in 1986. He was employed by the McCulloch Corp until its closing. John then pursued his love of collectibles and antiques becoming a very knowledgeable entrepreneur. His stories mixed with opinion and humor kept you intrigued by his knowledge and unending memories. He was passionate about his opposition to drugs and alcohol as he demonstrated wearing his two favorite t-shirts. One that depicts a slow moving turtle with the words "SPEED KILLS"and/or his t-shirt picturing "Lulu" that reads "PUGS NOT DRUGS". John will be remembered for his service at St. Vincent and by his and Lulu's family of friends at Lions Dog Park where they went daily. John always found the time and resources to do unexpected acts of kindness for many people. John will be remembered as a loving son, brother and friend to all those who were fortunate to know him. John is survived by his mother, Marie T. Ryan-Farland; his sisters & brothers, Linda (Fred) Ladner, Diane (Jerry) Koller, Bonnie (Mike) Bartolo, Timothy (Claudia) Ryan, Carol (Pat) Henry, Thomas (Michelle) Brettmann who all reside here in LHC. His nieces and nephews, Michael (Colleen) Lewter, Melissa (Mitch) Johnson, Julie (Michael) Carlson, Eric Bartolo, Lauren (Ben) Classen, Nathan (Rosalinda) Ryan, Nicholas Ryan, Shawn Henry, Travis Henry, Ryan Henry and also numerous cousins and other family members. John was preceded in death by his own father, James J. Ryan. We all know that John and Lulu are together now in a better place and at peace, reminding all of us to share love and give love every day! A mass is being held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on June 13th at 11:00 AM. Immediately following a "Celebration of Life" will be held in the Holy Family Parish Hall behind the church. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in memory of John and Lulu to either the LHC Police Department D.A.R.E. (N.O.V.A.) program or the Western Arizona Humane Society in LHC. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory. Thoughts and condolences may be sent to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.
