Obituary of Larry Van Bynen

Larry Van Bynen, 81 was called home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2015 while being compassionately cared for by the Joan and Diana Hospice Home. He was surrounded by his wife of 59 years, Joann Van Bynen and his son, Todd and his wife, Lisa. Larry was a devout Christian who loved to help those in need. If you met Larry once, you would walk away feeling as though you had just made a friend. Larry's life was a true example that through Christ, all things are possible. One of 7 children, Larry was born in Michigan and moved several times before calling Arizona his home in 1958. He was proud to call himself an Arizonian. As a land surveyor he brought his family to Lake Havasu City in 1969 where he spent many years helping pioneer the early development of the town. He had several careers including small business owner and plant engineer for Havasu hospital. Noteworthy, he was also a key factor in the creation of the Desert Hills Fire Department, (one of the early chiefs). Larry retired to his small ranch outside of Wikieup, AZ in 1994. He continued to serve the Lord by being active in his local church where he could share his passion for God, family and country. Donations may be made in his name to Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, KRMC Joan and Diana Hospice Home A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:00 am at 18218 Cholla Canyon Ranch Road, Wikieup, AZ 85360. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 11:00 am at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens, 1698 Deer Run Drive, LHC AZ 86404.
