Obituary of James Caroll Darrah

James Caroll Darrah passed away at 81 years of age on May 30, 2015 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Lee Bryan and Carol Louise Darrah on November 29, 1933 in Reno, NV. He was raised in Reno, NV and Washoe Valley where he lived until he retired in the 1990's. He traveled until moving to Havasu in 1998 and he called it home every since. He was wed to Amy B. Landers on September 29, 1951 in Carson City, NV; they were married for nearly 64 years. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, traveling, bull riding, judging high school rodeos, and anything for the kids. He was a good father, husband and friend who would help anyone who needed it. He is a member of Teamsters Local 533 for 50+ years, a lifetime member of NRA and a member of the Reno Fire Dept. He was in the United States Army National Guard and a member of NV Cowboy Assoc. Jim is survived by his wife, Amy B. Darrah of Lake Havasu City, AZ; daughters, Nancy C. Waites of Reno, NV, Denise M. Kimpe of Lake Havasu City, AZ; brother, Lee B. Darrah II of Las Vegas, NV; 4 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Carol Darrah; and his children, Don and Mike Darrah. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Havasu. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
