Landen George "Shorty" Standifer died on Monday, June 24, 2002 at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona at the age of 81. Born on December 6, 1920 in Plainview, Texas, he was one of the ten children of George C. and Hester H. Standifer. He is survived by his wife Francis Janelle Standifer of Lake Havasu City, AZ, son Landen G. "Bo" Standifer, Jr. of Tucson, AZ, daughters Connie S. Cutlip of Pinedale, WY, Sandra K. Griffin of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Carole A. Barbeau of Tucson, AZ. He has 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother Rev. Rois Gene Standifer, Milpitas, Ca. Siblings who preceded him in death were John O. Standifer, Andrew J. Standifer, Ila Belle McPeak, Harvey L. Bishop, Vera M. Thompson, Fred Junior Standifer, Oleta Faye Morton, Ada Ellen "Teddy" Martens. Prior to moving to Lake Havasu City, Landen and Janelle lived in Tucson for over 20 years. Landen was a retired Operating Engineer from Cyprus Pima Mining Company in Tucson, Arizona. He has been a resident of Lake Havasu City for the past 17 years. He will be laid to rest on Friday June 28, 2002 at 12:00 pm at Southlawn Cemetery in Tucson, AZ. Donations in lieu of flowers should go to Hospice of Lake Havasu City, AZ. Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
