Obituary of Robert William Prater
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
February 21, 2016, we all lost a great man to natural causes. "Bob" Robert William Prater had lived a hard life, but fulfilled his dreams. He was born in California, to Russell Prater and Helen Gaspar, on March 13, 1947. Bob enlisted at age 17 to the US Marine Corps, serving 4 years and fighting for our freedom in the Vietnam War. He was discharged, receiving 3 medals in 1969.
Bob then met his wife Shelly Peterson in Washington State and gave birth to 3 loving daughters. He was invested in his family and worked very hard. Bob later divorced and met Nancy Schuler and her 2 sons, at Boeing Aerospace, which they then married in 1989. Their love was "muscle cars" and invested in their 1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30, #1 of only 810 issued. They often raced taking 1st and 2nd place. Dad's passion was racing, showing and buying stunning rides.
After retiring with 30+ years from Boeing, Route 66 in Kingman, Arizona was his choice to bring his muscle car to. As his passion of cars slowed, his love of guns shined. Kingman brought dad a handful of "true friends." And now in his passing, have brought our family the kindness and love of Vickie, Tom, Jeff and Chris. Thank you Kingman.
Bob's memory will live on……Our Father, Our Friend, We Love You.
