Ellis R. Slankard, 71, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on July 28, 1933 in Santa Monica, CA.Ellis moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 5 years ago from Medford, OR. He worked as a soft tool mechanic for Boeing in Santa Monica, CA; for 15 years. Ellis was a member of the Moose Lodge and Eagles, past member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. Ellis enjoyed building model boats from scratch. His boats displayed his fine attention to detail from the small wooden chairs that sat on the deck to the wood spoked steering wheels.Ellis is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Ruth E. Slankard, sons Michael Slankard of Littlerock, CA; Steven Slankard of Saugus, CA; David Slankard of Atascadero, CA; daughter Wendy Reynolds of Orcutt, CA; step-son Mark Thiebold of Madison, IN; step-daughters Michelle Thiebold of Madison, IN; Lisa James of Sacramento, CA; sister Jean Mattingley of Harbor City, CA; 21 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren..Family request donations may be made in Ellis's name to the American Cancer Society, 2126 McCulloch Blvd; Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86403.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
