Obituary of Oliver PLUNKETT

Oliver Robert Plunkett, 85, passed away November 10, 2002 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born on October 29, 1917 in Ahpeatone, Oklahoma to Henry & Eula "Hogan" Plunkett.He graduated in 1937 from Ahpeatone, Oklahoma where he was raised and reared. Ahpeatone is 14 miles west of Walters, Oklahoma. For 15 years, he rode his horse to and from school.Oliver had 27 years of military service, mostly in the air force and retired on January 1, 1969. He had 11,000 hours of flying time. He was involved with the European Theater during WWII and the Berlin Air Lift. Oliver loved playing basketball and baseball. He was so good at baseball that through most of his life he was called "Cobb" after the great baseball legend Ty Cobb.The Plunkett family donated land for a school to be built in Ahpeatone, Oklahoma.He is survived by his loving family, sons. Keith Plunkett and his wife Dolly of Arizona and Karlos Plunkett and his wife Marty of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kim and her husband John of Oklahoma, Keith Jr. and his wife Joy of Washington, Kenny and his wife Sandy of Oklahoma, Kevin and his wife Lou of Oregon, Kristopher of Oklahoma and Dennis and his wife Lydia of Arizona; great grandchildren, Knathan and his wife Kimberly of California, Kevy and Kristina of Oregon, Kristofer of Washington, Kara and Kyle of Oklahoma, Theresa of Washington, Jackie of Oklahoma and Syra of Arizona; great great grandchildren, Jayden of Oregon and Ethan of Oklahoma.Oliver is accompanied by his loyal and close companion of 15 years, his dog "Fritz". He is also preceded in by his second wife of over 50 years, Lilo; his brother Lewis; his sister Lucille and his loving parents Henry Thomas Plunkett and Eula May "Hogan".The family requests that all who read this obituary to say a prayer for their deceased loved ones.A private family service will be held at a later date.Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
