James Ellison Weeks, 75, passed away on April 20, 2005 in Lake Havasu City. He was born on April 14, 1930 in Buffalo, New York to Floyd Weeks and Brenda "Shigler" Weeks. He attended elementary school and graduated from East High School in Buffalo, New York.Jim worked as an Aerospace Analyst and worked in Florida on the Apollo Space project. He moved to Lake Havasu City thirty-four years ago and has called it his home ever since. Jim worked for the McCulloch Corporation for many years. He was a great outdoorsman and athlete with a love of swimming, baseball, bowling and fishing. Jim spent countless hours on the lake at Site 6, his favorite fishing location. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War in the U.S. Navy and served from 1947 to 1952 with much of his service as a Gunner's Mate on the USS Goodrich. He had an outspoken love of his country. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #9401.Jim's memorial service was held April 23, 2005 at 5:00 pm in the auxiliary facilities of V.F.W. Post #9401. He was honored with a full military honor guard and rifle salute. As a tribute to his grandfather and family Petty Officer Kevin J. Weeks of the USS Ronald Reagan served as a member of the honor guard. Post Commander Stan Wilkinson directed the military honor program. Post Chaplin, Pastor Fred Bennett then conducted the memorial service that followed. Jim's eldest son, Wayne, gave a tribute to his father. Jim's youngest sister Peg Agnew spoke about his optimism through life. His son, Steve Weeks, shared the qualities that each son carries in pride of family and work. Jana Pasten, granddaughter, spoke on behalf of her brothers and sisters and the many loving Lake Havasu Memories with their Grandfather. Close friends gave tribute to Jim's ability to reach others in their time of need. Two sister, three sons, nine grandchildren and two great grandsons survive Jim. His sisters, Joan (Clyde) Fortner of Atlanta, Georgia; Peg (Robert) Agnew of San Marcos, California: son Wayne (Jamie) Weeks of San Gabriel, California and their children Lts. Shannon (John) Stanton USN, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jana (Mario) Pasten of Eagle Rock, California and their sons Mycah and Brooklyn, Petty Officer Kevin Weeks USN, San Diego, California , Karen Weeks and Brian Weeks: son Steven (Maureen) Weeks of Temecula, California and their children Garrett, Grant and Brittany Weeks; son Robert (Julie) Weeks, of Placentia, California and the son Jordan Weeks. Jim also had many other extended family members, nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Floyd Weeks and mother Brenda Gear. He will be greatly missed.The family has requested that any memory contributions be made to the VFW Post #9401 Funeral Fund to assist other veterans; V.F.W.
