Evie Dion, 69, entered the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father on January 27, 2003 after a valiant battle with cancer. Evie was born on January 22, 1934 to George and Mable Simpson. She was one of 12 children and grew up on a farm in Topeka, Kansas. Evie was a resident of Lake Havasu City for 29 years. She retired from Lake Havasu Regional Hospital where she was a dietary aide. She loved her work and was well liked and respected by all her co-workers. She was preceded in by her loving and devoted husband of 37 years, Art. She had a strong faith in the Lord and a deep devotion to our Blessed Mother, both helped her through this last valiant fight.Of all the things in her life, she took the most joy from just being with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life and the reason she fought so hard.Mom, you fought so many difficult battles all throughout your life and always came out on top. We never imagined you wouldn't win this one too. You taught us strength and courage and always gave us unconditional love. For those gifts we are forever grateful. We take comfort in knowing you are at peace in heaven with dad and that someday we'll all be together again. For now, you are our special angel in heaven and forever in our hearts.
