THE REVEREND GEORGE H. WELSHGeorge Herbert Welsh of Lake Havasu City, passed away on Monday, February 3rd, 2003. He was born on August 31st, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio.He was married to Nancy Sachiko Honda of Tokyo, Japan on January 4th, 1951.George retired from the Air Force after 28 years of service.He was ordained in 1988 as Deacon in the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago.George and his beloved wife, Nancy moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ. in 1991 and he served as Deacon at Grace Episcopal Church and Chaplain for the Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center until his .Deacon George served his community in many civic organizations. He was past president of the Kiwanis, president of the London Bridge Christian Ministries and participated in programs within the Lake Havasu City Interagency. He is survived by his wife Nancy, three children; son, Robert and wife Noreen of Payette, Idaho; son Christopher and wife Jenny from Dillon, Colorado; daughter Francine Maki and husband Russell of Honolulu, Hawaii and two grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Norma Pullum of Buffalo Valley, Tennessee.A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 111 Bunker St., on Saturday, February 8th, 2003 at 10:00 AM. with Father Leo Theriault and Rev. Richard Rounds officiating.Donations made in memory of Deacon George may be made to the Grace Episcopal Church Building Fund.Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
