Karen Jean Schneck was called home by her Lord early in the morning on Saturday, February 15th, 2003. Karen was a teacher at Our Saviour Lutheran Church and School, but has been on leave the last year and a half suffering from melanoma cancer. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and the many students she has touched over the years. Although originally diagnosed in January of 2002, God graciously added another year to her life to say goodbye.Karen was born in Woodruff, Wisconsin on April 30th, 1959. While growing up she enjoyed skiing, swimming, and boating. After graduation from Lakeland Union High School, she attended Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. She graduated with a bachelors degree in education in 1982, and held positions as teacher in preschool through 4th, grade, in addition to serving church and school secretary. Three congregations were blessed through her service: Grace Lutheran, Muskegon, Michigan; Holy Trinity Lutheran, Okauchee, Wisconsin; and Our Saviour Lutheran in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.In 1982, she married James Schneck, who is the principal at Our Saviour. Their three children, Amanda, Brandon, and Bethany were born in Muskegon, Michigan, and are still living at home. As a family they enjoyed hiking, camping and Revolutionar War reenacting in the Northwest Territory Alliance. In addition, she is survived by her parents, Ron and Carol Trapp of Woodruff, Wisconsin, sisters Kim (Steve) Grimm, Karla (Marvin) Pedersen, Kay (Paul) Hoffman, Kristin Trapp, and Kela (Rick) Ellis. She also leaves 13 nieces and12 nephews, in addition to many more family and friends who will miss her dearly,Visitation will be held at Our Saviour Lutheran on Wednesday, February 19th, from 9:00 to ll:00 AM. A memorial service will be held thereafter at ll:00 AM. Memorials may be made to Our Saviour Lutheran School Library in Lake Havasu City, ArizonaArrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
