Obituary of Shirley Molitor

Please share a memory of Shirley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Shirley "Dolly" Molitor passed away peacefully at home early Saturday, June 8, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Dolly was proud to say she was born 1-2-34 (January 3, 1934) in Chicago, Illinois to Salvitore & Carmila and was the youngest of 13 children. Dolly loved life and lived each day to the fullest. It has been said that before she met Jim she and her sister Lori would go to the Navy Pier in Chicago to meet the sailors as they came in from the sea. Jim and Dolly knew each other for 63 years when he proposed over 61 years ago at the Buckingham Fountain in Chicago Illinois where she couldn't say no. While in Crystal Lake, Illinois Dolly was an active member of the American Legion. Dolly loved children and they loved her. She worked as a pre-school teacher in Crystal Lake Illinois until they moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. It didn't take her long to find a job teaching children. She went to work at New Day School in 1987 where she became grandma aka Mama or "Miss Dolly" to numerous children and she took care of them until she retired in December of 2012. At the age of 79 she got to fill one of her bucket wishes and went ziplining in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dolly loved to travel with Jim, family or whoever would take her, she would never pass up an opportunity to take a trip near or far. She was a member of the Lake Havasu City Marine Corps Women's Aux and made several trips to 29 Palms to help families in need. What Ms. Dolly, as she is affectionately known as, cherished most was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her extended family. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years James "Jim"Molitor, Sr. of Lake Havasu City; sons James "Jay" (Karolyn) Molitor of Lake Havasu City, John (Lisa) Molitor of Kingman, daughters Patricia (Jim) Danielson and Deborah (Rick) Broker of Lake Havasu City; brothers Sam (Dolly) Sances, Charlie Sances and Bobby Sances of Chicago, Illinois; sisters Lori (Leo) Hoffer of Las Vegas, Nevada and Marie Odishoo of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren JP & Patrick Danielson, Brittany & Matthew Broker, Nathan, Melissa, Zackary & Ryan Molitor and 5 great-grandchildren. Dolly was preceded in death by her parents & grandparents and twin sister. Miss Dolly will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. Services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church with a reception immediately following. A private burial will take place on Monday June 17, 2013 at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family will set up an account in Miss Dolly's name. Thoughts and condolences may be sent to the family at www.lietz-fracefuneralhome.com . Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
