Vern Edwin Zelmer,60, passed away on Saturday, March 15th, 2003 at his home in Lake Havasu City, Az. He was born on November 3rd, 1942 and was raised in the Mercer/Wilton area in North Dakota. Vern proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1965. He lived in Bismarck, ND; and worked for Fronteer Directory until 1989, when he moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; with his family and continued to work in the yellow pages for Cannon Publishing until his . He was also a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge.Vern loved playing golf, fishing, playing cards with his family and friends and most importantly being with and spoiling his three grandchildren. His gift of gab, good humor and zest for life will be greatly missed. Our hearts are heavy and our sorrow runs deep.He is survived by his wife Kathy of 35 years; his daughters, Jodi Bjellum and husband Hans Erik of Minnesota; Jeri Gillingham and husband Kevin of Arizona, and his 3 grandchildren Connor & Kaitlyn Bjellum and Bailey Gillingham along with his mother and three sisters. He was preceded in by his father, Edwin Zelmer.A celebration of his life and visitaion will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Friday, March 2lst, 2003 from 6 to 8 P.M. Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, March 22nd, 2003 at l:00 PM.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family.Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
