Seamstress, Church School Secretary, HomemakerMarion Bowen,88 of Lake Havasu City, Az; passed away of natural causes at her home on March 22nd, 2003. She was born November lst, 1914 in Philadelphia, PA; to Maria Anna Socomano Buono and Ferinando Buono. In Philadelphia she married her love Joseph A. Bowen a WWII combat photographer and photographer for the Smithsonian Institute. The family moved to Falls Church, Virginia in 1956. Marion was a meticulous seamstress creating elegant ball gowns for those attending the many formal affairs in the DC area. Her talents extended to furniture upholstery, draperies and mens's suits. For many years she held the position of secretary to the Director of the Board of Education at the Unitarian Church in Falls Church, Virginia, enjoying her role immensely. Ann loved music and was an excellent ballroom dancer.She moved to Scottsdale, AZ; in 1973 to be near her daughter and work for Hancock Fabrics. She moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; in 1992. Her beloved husband Joe passed away in 1970. Also preceding her death was her sister Connie and brothers Nick and Ray.She leaves her son Stephen J. Bowen of Litchfield, Az; daughter Elissa A. Hellwig and son-in-law Gary of Lake Havasu City, Az; loving attentive grandson, W. Jodon Hellwig of Flagstaff, Az; and a long time family friend Tina Trowbridge of Waddel, Az.The family extends heart-felt thanks to her caregivers, Patricia Johnson, Rita Smith, Mariellen Cover and Yvonne Kukuk.She will always be with us.The family request any donations are made in her name to Lake Havasu High School Performing Arts.Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
