As a young boy, his family immigrated to the United States where they settled in Chicago. He grew up there and after high school graduation relocated to Ft.Worth, Texas. It was there that he met and married his wife of 61 years, Alma Lundgren. Alma preceded him in passing just this past October. George proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and saw action in Europe at the Battle of the Bulge. After begining their family in Ft. Worth, they spent the majority of their lives in San Diego. Their retirement years took them to Walla Walla, Washington and in 1994, to Lake Havasu City, Az.As a youngster, George was very athletic and became a gymnast. That love and skill carried into his life and there's many stories of him walking through the house on his hands. He worked for Conoco Oil until moving to San Diego in the 1950's where he began his carreer in aeronautics. He worked for General Dynamics and later Teledyne Ryan in which he retired from in 1984.In his latter years, he was considered a tireless, devoted, husband, father and grandfather that liked nothing better then giving of himself to others. Doing activities and taking day long excursions with his grandkids, helping in his son's businesses and squeezing in occational trips with his wife. In Washington, he served several years as an officer in the Danish Sisterhood Club. As the family patiarch, a gathering wasn't complete until George shared a memorable story or told one of his terrific jokes. George will be missed by many and loved by all.
