Curtis Lee Cooper, 37, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2003 at University Medical Center, Tucson. He was born November 9, 1965 to Diane Maier in Bishop, Calif. Curtis' birth father, Larry Maier, passed away when Diane was only a few months pregnant. Curtis' family moved to Lake Havasu City in 1968 when he was just two years old.Curtis was an extremely loving husband, father, son and brother. He loved the outdoors, especially the mountains. Two of his favorite past times were riding ATV's and watching Motocross. For the last three years he fought a hard battle with cancer. "Despite the hardship of his disease he always had a smile on his face and a positive outlook on life. And no matter what he was going through he would always help anyone in need. He was the most giving, loving and generous person I've ever had the privilege to know. I am truly honored to have been his soul mate in life for 16 years" says his wife."Curtis will forever be missed by his friends and family. Anyone who knew him can tell you that he effected people's lives in a very special way. It was as if the sun rose when he walked in a room. We will never forget his forever smiling face" says his wife.Curtis is survived by his wife, Dawn Cooper; daughters, Brandi and Haley Cooper; parents, Diane and James Cooper; brother Glen Cooper; step sisters, Deanna McCraw and Jacque Boufford; grandparents, Donald McCormick and Freda Cooper; uncle, Ron McCormick and many nephews and nieces.Memorial services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, June 21 at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. Pastor Steven Beal and Pastor Bob Rohn will officiate.In lieu of flowrs, donations can be made to the Cooper family at Mohave State Bank to account #3320049 or just mention the Cooper family fund. A portion of the proceeds will go to Curtis' Tucson doctor, Dr. Epner for his research fund to find a cure for lymphoma and other cancerous diseases. Curtis had two bone marrow transplants at University Medical Center in Tucson.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
