Leslie Elmer Wakeman (Jr.) passed away at the age of 79 on Friday, June 28, 2013 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on September 1, 1933 in Fowler, Kansas to Vivian Geraldine Wakeman (Houser) and Leslie Elmer Wakeman Sr. Leslie joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952 and served our country during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged he came home to Kansas to work on the family farm. He then built Wakeman Feed Yard and operated it for 25 years. In 1998 he moved his family to Salida, CO and later worked for Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area. In 2009 he moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona with his wife Marie.
Leslie enjoyed spending time with his family, building beautiful log furniture, walking by the lake, and eating ice cream. He is survived by his loving wife Marie Wakeman; four sons Brent Wakeman of Fowler, Kansas; Terry Wakeman and wife Joyce of Englewood, Colorado: Todd Wakeman and wife Kiley (Larson) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; and Micah Wakeman of Fort Collins, Colorado; and one stepson Raymond Goodrich of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He also has one granddaughter, Rachel Clowdis (Wakeman) and her husband Justin and one great-granddaughter Caitlyn Clowdis, all of Minneola, Kansas.
Services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, 21 Riviera Blvd. in Lake Havasu City, AZ on Saturday, July 6 at 10:00 a.m.
