Clyde Wilford Smith Jr., 81, passed away June 29, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born to Clyde Wilford Smith Sr. and Lulu (Wilson) Smith.After Clyde graduated from Montpelier High School in 1940, he entered the military during WWII, where he was a high speed radio operator with the 35th Transportation Corps Service Group.After serving in World War II for 5 years, he went on to watch making school in Denver, Colorado, graduating in 1948. He was a watch maker for 50 years and had his own business "Smith Jewelry and Trophy" for 11 years before retiring in 1998.Clyde married Darlene Day on June 21, 1958 and became proud parents of one son, John Lawrence Smith.He is survived by his son John and his wife, Paula of Kemmerer, Wyoming; two sisters-in-law Loretta Smith of Dunkirk, Indiana and Mary Jeanette Smith of Folsom, California; ex-wife, Darlene Smith of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.He is preceded in by his mother and father; brothers, Milo, Dale, Delmar and Fred and sisters, Carol Jane and Careen.Memorial services will be held Friday, July 11, 11:00 AM at Tooele United odist Church with Pastor Michael Heart officiating. The V.F.W. Post #9413 will hold military honors.The family request donations to go to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86405.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
