January 14, Andrew "Andy" Oliva passed away from heart failure. Andy was a Brooklyn, New York native who moved to Los Angeles where he resided for over two decades then settled in Lake Havasu to be close to his wife's family for the last two decades.
Andy was retired from working for the City Of Lake Havasu. Many of mornings Andy was a staple at Breakfast cafes throughout Havasu. Everyone greeted him with a hug and handshake. He was active in the community, Salvation Army, and was also given a Volunteer of the Year award. Over the years, he made many friends, between Havasu and Florida where he also spent some time in retirement.
Andrew is survived by his son Frank Oliva of Lake Havasu City; daughter Kim E. Oliva of Los Angeles; daughter Dawn J. Oliva of New Smyrna Beach, FL; grandson Brook Oliva of Orlando, FL; sisters-in-law Dawn Freise and Tammy Kadisak of Lake Havasu City; nephew John-Michael Freise, and his wife Samantha and their two children Gage and Capri Freise.
He is proceeded in death by his; wife Johnette "Johnnie" Oliva, his mother Elizabeth Oliva, father Andrew, and his brothers Edward, Robert, and Harold.
Andrew was much loved and will be missed by his family and friends. The family is at peace knowing he is reunited with his love, his wife, Johnnie, who he lost only a short months prior to his death, as he did in life, is probably woo' ing her with his romantic poetry, humor and charm that won her over to begin with.
The family will be having a celebration of life that will be announced at a later date.
