BILLY GEORGE McDONALD Billy George McDonald passed away on July 2, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 85. He was born November 22, 1927 in Quinton, Oklahoma to Ray McDonald and Mattie (Payton). Billy graduated from Oakland A & M in 1950 and in 1951 through 1952 he was in the service until being Honorably Discharged. In 1956 Billy graduated from the University of California Agriculture College in Davis and later taught agriculture for 23 years. Billy is survived by his loving wife Shirley (Smit) Vines-McDonald of Lake Havasu City, AZ; son Thomas McDonald (Jennifer) of Lake Havasu City, AZ; daughter Janet Erickson (Jerry) of Redmond, OR and sisters Alva Baker of Alaska and Dorothy Davis of WA; grandchildren James and Joshua Erikson, Zane and Joshua McDonald; stepchildren, Michael Vines, Sandra Forman (Lyale), Bill Vines (Michelle), 10 step grandchildren and 20 step great grandchildren several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ruth Floyd. He will be deeply missed and always loved. Graveside Services will be held at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 10:00 AM with military honors rendered by VFW Post 9401 and American Legion Post 81. Contributions can be made in Bill's name to the Dementia/Alzheimers Association and The Heart Institute of your choice.
