Walter Joseph Brogan, 93, passed away on September 3rd, 2003 at Lake Hills Inn, Lake Havasu City, Az. He was born on December 11th, 1909 in Bisbee, Arizona.Walter went to work in the copper mines of Bisbee, Az; from 1928 to 1935. In August of 1935 he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served for 21 years until 1956 as a Master Sergant. He participated in WWII and the Korean Conflict. During his time in the Marine Corps, he received the following medals; Presidential Unit Citation, World War II Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, American Service Medal, European Service Medal, China Service Medal and the Purple Heart. Walter also worked as a security guard for the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco, CA; for 6 years.He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 9th, 2003 at 10:00 AM with Father Michael Deptula officiating. Burial to follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens, Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Arrangements were entrusted by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
