Arlene Sinkus, 78, passed away peacefully Friday, July 5th.
Arlene was born to the late Leo and Mary Boike, December 1, 1934 in Detroit Michigan. Arlene graduated from Domincan High School in Detroit and then went on to Nursing School at St Joseph Mercy, graduating in 1955. She married Bruno Sinkus in 1955, and they lived together in the Detroit area for 63 years before relocating to Lake Havasu City in 1998.
Arlene was a Registered Nurse and practiced for many years at Holy Cross Hospital and then Macomb Hospital. She enjoyed her profession and took pride in providing excellent care. Arlene was an experienced cook and knew everyone's favorite dish. She was an avid gardener and read thousands of books.
Arlene is survived by her sister Rosemary Lepine; husband Bruno Sinkus and their four children, Paula Lupo ( Jim) of Lake Havasu City AZ, Matthew Sinkus (Cheryl) of Harrison Twp MI, David Sinkus (Beth) of Corrales NM, and Mary Kay Meyering (Robert) of Clinton Twp MI. Arlene is preceded in death by her parents and two sons; Michael Sinkus and John Sinkus. She had a special relationship with her twelve grandchildren; Elizabeth (Justin) Guy, Matthew (Suzanne) Lupo, Nicholas (Megan) Lupo; Timothy Lupo; Kevin Barthlow, Nicholas Sinkus, Shelby Sinkus; Sean Friedenstab; Owen Sinkus, Charlotte Sinkus; Sarah Meyering, Katie Meyering and Michael Meyering. She was blessed with six great grandchildren; Audrey and Carissa Guy; Lola Lupo; and Aida, Greyson and Anderson Lupo.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Havasu Community Health Foundation - the Alzheimer's-Dementia Education and Support Center.
Services will be at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Friday, July 12th with a Rosary at 12:30 P.M. and a Mass at 1:00 PM. A lunch reception will follow the service.
