Obituary of Tipton Curtis Patry
Please share a memory of Tipton to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tipton Curtis Patry, 99, passed away July 3, 2015 in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
He was born to Christian and Sarah (Houchin) Patry on Feb. 11, 1916 in Lake City, Arkansas.
He was wed to Josephine Patricia Cabrera in New York City in 1940. They had been married for nearly 60 beloved years. Tip loved fishing, scuba diving, music, and flying. The family made many trips together all over the world. He always had a project started. He never said, "I can't"; he didn't think there was anything he couldn't do. He built his own boat and airplane by himself.
Tip was employed at Trans World Airlines (TWA) for 36 years where he made many lasting relationships moving from New York to Redondo Beach, CA, and then Tucson, AZ. The last move was to Lake Havasu in 1995 to join his brother and two sisters that all lived on the same street.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Patry of Palos Verdes Estates; daughters, Cheryl Patry of Santa Monica, Carol Mortensen of San Luis Obispo, Suzanne Cederquist of Capistrano Beach; sister, Trula Mae Strickland of Lake Havasu City; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and siblings Marie Rudder, Annabelle Dwyer, and Christian George Patry, Jr.
"Our dead are never dead to us until we have forgotten them." His family and friends will miss him dearly. There will be a memorial service at a later date in California for relatives and friends.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory. Thoughts and condolences may be sent to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com
