Obituary of Terry GWINN

Terry Wesley Gwinn Jr., 76, passed away on October 13th, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, AZ; He was born on November 24th, 1926 in Greenwood, SC. Terry moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 12 years ago from Grover Beach, CA. He worked as a correctional officer for California Correctional Dept. in San Luis Obispo, Ca; for 10 years. He also proudly served in the U.S.Army WWII.He is survived by his loving wife Alma Gwinn of Lake Havasu City, Az; sons Terry W. Gwinn III of Florida, Thomas Gwinn of Georgia; daughters Alice Ferguson of Vertura, Ca; Glenda Stroobant of Placentia, Ca; Robbin Herren of Lake Havasu City, Az; brother Joe Gwinn of Virginia; grandchildren Michelle, Crista, Rachelle, Richard, Sandra, Sarrah, Michael, Drisanna, Tommy, great grandchildren Cody Tyler, Cassidy, Austin and Kyley.Terry dedicated his life to community service, having spent 25 years with the YMCA. He touched the lives of many children especially his granddaughter Sarrah, who was the apple of his eye. If he wasn't with his family you could find him at the golf course or at the gym. He had a love for all sports, but he always found time for his family. He will surely be missed.A memorial service will be held at First Southern Baptist Church on Saturday, October 18th, 2003 at 11:00 AM with Rev. James E. Maynard and Rev. Ed Wyatt officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the V.F.W Post #9401 and the American Legion Post # 81.Donations may be made in his name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Az. 86405.
