Valta V. Mumford, 95, passed away on October 3lst, 2003 at Deb's Elder Care in Lake Havasu City, Az. She was born in a sod house on June 16th, 1908 in Graham Township, Kansas. Valta moved to Lake Havasu City, Az; 2 years from Globe, Az. She was a homemaker and also a sales clerk. Valta was a member of the Havasu Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, past president - Globe, Az; Emblem Club of Elks Lodge and life member of the PTA. She is survived by her husband Edwin Fred Mumford of Lake Havasu City, Az; daughter Sally Smith and husband Ronald of Lake Havasu City, Az; son James Reeve and wife Alice of San Diego, Ca; daughter Sondra Schwartman and husband Wayne of Lincoln, NE; daughter Sharon Slater of Mesa, Az; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in by her parents Scott Jenkins and Armenia (Hall) Jenkins, 5 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 granson.A graveside service will be held at East Lawn Palm Cemetery in Tucson, Az; on Sunday, November 16th, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Hospice Chaplain Rev. Roger Pierce will be officiating. Family request donations may be made to medical research of your choice.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
