Ann Spangler, passed away on November 1, 2003. She was born Anna Gloria Nelson on December 4, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Andrew and Margaret Nelson.Ann and her husband Jim moved to Lake Havasu City from Southern California in 1970. They both loved living in Lake Havasu City. She worked for the Telephone company (Bell Telephone & General Telephone) for many years before moving to Havasu. Her first job here was with Citizens Utilities. Over the years, she has worked for several businesses in town, some still in existence and some long gone. She attended many classes at MCC through the years.Ann had a zest for life and was always ready to participate in any celebration. She loved the water. She was an avid water-skier until she could no longer ski, and was a certified scuba diver. She enjoyed fishing, boating and bowling. Ann was a volunteer tax preparer for AARP for a couple of years and would try most anything at least once. If you were a friend of Ann's, you had a friend for life. She was a member in good standing of the Lake Havasu Yacht Club, Lake Havasu Senior Center, Ladies Auxillary of the Elks Lodge, Eagles Lodge and American Legion. She was also a member of the Birjie's of Mount Olive Lutheran Church and also a long time member of the congregation at Mount Olive. Ann was preceded in by her loving husband, James Spangler and her parents.Ann is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Doug Main of Lake Havasu City; long time companion Robert Parker of Lake Havasu City; sisters, Marie Johnson of North Hills, CA and Ruth Shuey of Chico, CA; brothers, Richard Nelson of Skuim, WA and George Nelson of Harlingen, TX; granddaughter, Tammie Hacher of Sparta, TN; grandson, Douglas Main of Lake Havasu City; great granddaughter, Krystal, as well as step granddaughters, Rebecca and Robin Main of Lake Havasu and Rachel Main of Camarillo, CA, which were also a big part of her life.Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday, November 6, 3:30 PM at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.If you would like to make a donation in her name, please do so to Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2170 Havasupai Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
