Please share a memory of Jessie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jessie LaVera Lane was born December 16, 1914 in Ford Dodge Iowa. She passed away peacefully at her home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Sunday morning November 30, 2003, surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Lawrence Lane, her son Larry Lane, her granddaughter Dawn Harper and great grandson Robert Lane, all of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She is also survived by her nephew (and #2 son) Gary Lane, sister-in-law Alma Lane, nephews Don Lane, Kenny Lane, Richard Lane, and nieces Sharon Volk, Linda Seeger, Pat Ferrell, Carol Crase, Velma Lane and Mary Schnitker. She also leaves behind numerous good friends in Hemet and San Pedro, California. Jessie loved fishing at Lake Hemet and Lake Cachuma in California. She loved to hostess large parties at her home in San Pedro. She loved nickel machines. She loved her family and friends, who will all miss her very much. She loved her life-long friend and husband, who moved her from Wichita, Kansas to Santa Monica, California in the 1930's to begin a great adventure together. She loved to tell the story of the long trip in a A Ford and stopping in Arizona, just before the California border so they could clean up because they had been told that California had a dress code and wouldn't let them in if they didn't pass it! Jessie had overcome several serious health challenges during her elder years, but lost a short battle with cancer. Her family is grateful for the wonderful care provided by the very special staff at Jasmine House and Hospice of Havasu who ensured she never suffered during her final days. There will be a small memorial service at Jasmine House at 3:30 PM, Thursday December 4, 2003 for the residents and family, and a Remembrance Service at the Lake Havasu Church of the Nazarene later in January. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jessie Lane Memorial Missions fund at the Lake Havasu Church of the Nazarene, 2700 N Rainbow Ave, Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86403. The family also wants to thank Terry, Chris and Kristen of the Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home for their compassionate assistance in arranging her final care.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
