Obituary of Donna DOUGLAS

Donna M. Douglas passed away on January 1, 2004 in Queen Creek, AZ. She was born April 27, 1937 to Clarence O. and Grace E. Helgeson at Fargo, N.D.Donna attended schools in Oregon and Idaho. She graduated from Beauty School in Idaho and practiced Cosmetology until June of 1955. She retired from Pace Dairy at Rochester, MN in 1994. After her retirement she and her husband spent their winters in Quartzsite, AZ before purchasing their home in Lake Havasu City. Donna enjoyed cooking, reading, bowling and spending time with her family. Donna was a Hospice of Havasu volunteer and attended Hilltop Community Church. Her strong faith and the prayers of many helped her through her illness.She was preceded in death by her father, a sister, one niece, one nephew and one step-granddaughter.Donna is survived by her mother, Grace E. Kamperman of Lake Havasu; husband Clifford C. Douglas of Lake Havasu; five children, Edward L. Smith of Spokane, WA, Cynthia M. Nichols and her husband David of Queen Creek, AZ, Carolyn M. Unger and her husband Ronald of Kasson, MN, William Douglas and his wife Janel of Luck WI and Richard O. Douglas of Rochester, MN; four step-children, Grace Ann Straight and her husband Rodney of Spokane, WA, Cliff A. Douglas of Rochester, MN, Jerry L. Douglas and his wife Bonnie of Canton, MN and David W. Douglas and his wife Donna of Goldsboro, NC; two brothers, Robert O. Helgeson and his wife Delores of Veradale, WA and James C. Helgeson and his wife Roxanne of Coeur d' Alene, ID. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at Hilltop Community Church on Wednesday, January 7, 1:00 PM.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to go to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.Donna was a kind and loving person, she will be missed her family and many friends.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
