Obituary of Gary Lee Krauser

Gary Lee Krauser Sr. passed away July 9, at 3:50am in Lake Havasu, AZ after his long fight with lung cancer. He was born in Lemmon, South Dakota and was the son of Gordon & Gladys Krauser. He was the youngest of 9 children. He moved to Portland, OR for most of his childhood and graduated from Portland's Washington High School class of 1956. Gary joined Platt Electric Supply shortly after its inception where he worked until his retirement. He married and enjoyed his fatherhood years. He was also ambitious entrepreneur, who owned restaurants, rental properties, distribution companies, and other creative endeavors. He was a Trailblazer, Seahawks, Oregon State, and Oregon sports fan. He enjoyed his membership at the Columbia River Yacht Club, deep sea-fishing, traveling to warm sunny destinations, movies, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. In 2000 he moved to Lake Havasu, AZ where he spent his retirement days. He enjoyed swimming in his pool, playing his favorite game of cribbage, eating fresh grapefruit, cards at the local Elks Club, entertaining out of town guests and planning his yearly fishing trips with his children. Gary (Smiley) loved his family and his friends often organizing large gatherings including his family reunions. He is survived by his four children, Luanne Krauser, Gary Krauser Jr., Jary Krauser, Derek Krauser; and three grandchildren, Phil Stanoff, Jaden Krauser, and Jaya Krauser. He is also survived by his last sibling, his sister Betty Blackman of Spokane, WA and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews throughout the U.S. We invite all family and friends to celebrate his life with us on August 10, 2015 at 3pm at McMenamins Edgefield, 2126 SW Halsey, Troutdale, OR 97060.
