Joe Spano, 93, passed away January 10, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Richard and Frances (Notoriano) Spano on April 19, 1910 in Pennsylvania.Joe made Lake Havasu his home 6 years ago, moving here from Montebello, CA where he was a self employed cabinet maker for 50 plus years.He was a member of the NRA, the Carpenters Union, Elks Lodge, the ABC (American Bowling Association) and was known to be an avid bowler.Joe is survived by his loving family, son, Richard Spano and his wife, Suzanne of Lake Havasu; daughter, Carol Hauerwaas and her husband Ronald of Tehachapi, CA; sisters, Ann Papa of Rochester, NY, Eleanor Haze of Lake Elsinore, CA, Virginia Simard of Lake Havasu, Sarah Howell of Oceanside, CA and Sylvia Stevens of Corona, CA. He will also be dearly missed by his six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephewsFuneral services will take place at Lietz-Fraze Chapel, Wednesday, January 14, 10:00 AM. Interment will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, CA, Friday, January 16, 2004.Donations are requested to go to the Havasu Cancer Association, 2126 McCulloch Blvd., Ste. 7, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403 or to a charity of choice.Joe was very much loved and respected and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The world just lost a true gentleman!Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
