Nada Maxine Layland, 74, passed away January 20, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born to Park and Marguerite (Fry) Gates on December 10, 1929 in Mt. Vernon, OH.Nada made Arizona her home 18 years ago, moving from Southgate, CA.She is survived by her loving family, sons, Dane P. Layland of Hawaii, Donald and his wife Lisa Layland of Henderson, NV and David Layland of Mt. Vernon, OH; daughter, Diane and her husband Charles Philpot of Parker, AZ; brothers, Derle Gates and Bob Gates, both of California; sisters, Marcene Black of Carson, CA and Joyce Carr, also of California. She will also be greatly missed by her six grandchildren, Charlie Jr. and Steven Philpot, Ryan, Amber, Kenny and Alyssa Layland and one great grandson, Zane Philpot.She is preceded in by her beloved husband, Donald Leroy Layland; parents, Park and Marguerite Gates and brother, Neil Gates.A memorial services will be held Saturday, January 24, 11:00 AM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel with Guy Gorman officiating.Donations are requested to go to the Alzheimer's Association, payable to Interagency Respite Care, 1940 Mesquite Ave., Suite I, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
