Donald Lewis Bennett, 73, passed away January 25, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to John and Eileen (Conway) Bennett on March 19, 1930 in Great Falls, MT.Don grew up in Coeur d'Alene, ID and then joined the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. After his return home, he moved his family to Ventura, CA where he met his wife, Dolly who had been working with the Ventura Sheriff Office. They said their vows on April 2, 1955.Don and Dolly traveled extensively together through the years, visiting Egypt, Spain Pakistan, France, Paris and Switzerland. His construction opportunities also took him to Kwajalein, Marshall Islands and Saudi Arabia up until his retirement in 1978. After that, they took a "quick" trip to Laughlin, NV to play the slots. Their surprise 40th wedding anniversary (orchestrated by their daughter, Tanya from Alaska) in 1995 was a huge success with friends attending from 8 states to join the celebration in Laughlin.Don is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 48 years, Doris "Dolly" Bennett; daughter, Tanya L. Bennett of Anchorage, AK and two cousins, Bob and Ivan Rickle, both of Bayview, ID.He is preceded in by his parents, John and Eileen Bennett and brother, Thomas Bennett.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
