James M. Zimmerman, 79, passed away March 3, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Fredrick and Marie (Donohue) Zimmerman on August 23, 1924 in Chicago, IL.Jim moved to Lake Havasu 30 years ago from Tinley Park, IL. For 30 years he was employed as a printer. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie #4299 and a lifetime member of the VFW #9401. He attended Lake Havasu Center of Religious Science and the Lake Havasu Senior Center. He especially enjoyed traveling.Jim was a proud veteran in the US Army during WWII and had the responsibility of driving an ambulance. He was awarded the Victory Medal American Theater Ribbon, the European African Middle Easter Theater Ribbon with one Silver Star, 3 overseas bars, a Good Conduct medal, the Purple Heart and the Silver Star Medal. He was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge.Jim will be dearly missed by his brother, Fred Zimmerman of Lake Havasu and sister, Betsy Rick and her husband Logan of Tinley Park, IL.His parents and sister-in-law, Valerie preceded him in .Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
