Elbert Gerard "Al" Blume, 68, passed away March 27, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Arnold and Mildred (Nelson) Blume on September 28, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA.Al was the most honorable and courageous man to all who knew him. He lovingly and graciously served his devoted wife for 46 wonderful years and his 4 children whom he cherished. He proudly served his country with 22 years in the United States Navy and in his retirement, gave 12 years to the Elks B.P.O.E. Lodge 2399 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was also a member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Fleet Reserve.Al is survived by his adoring wife, Lonnie Blume; son, Elbert "Corky" Blume Jr. and his wife Susan of Cave Creek, AZ; daughters Carrie Law and her husband Bob of Simi Valley, CA, Vicki Lynn Kruse and her husband Marty of Simi Valley, CA, Dawn Hubbard and her husband Frank of Lake Havasu; brothers, Robert Blume of Lancaster, CA and Harold Blume of Gardenerville, NV; stepsister, Earlene Zariphes of Murrieta, CA and 10 grandchildren.He is preceded in by his mother, father, brother, stepmother, two stepsisters and great grandson.He was a special husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was such a blessing to his family and all who knew him. His dear and wise essence will continue to be in all of our lives. Our family has gained enormously from everything this man has given us. He will be missed so very much. He will be loved forever and ever.Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 1, 10:00 AM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Graveside services will be Friday, April 2, 11:00 AM at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens and the Elks Lodge of Sorrows will hold a ceremony in his honor, Friday, April 2, 1:00 PM at the Elks Lodge with full military honors conducted by the VFW Post 9401 and American Legion Post 81. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made in his name to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405 or the Elks Major Projects.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
