Obituary of Mary TIKVA

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary Tikva, 75, of Lake Havasu City passed away peacefully at her home, April 5, 2004 after a brave battle with cancer. She was born December 9, 1928 in Paducah, KY.Mary and her late husband, Matt Tikva were long-time residents of the Lake Havasu/Parker area, having relocated from Los Angeles in the mid-70's. They embraced the desert lifestyle, and made countless friends over the years. Mary owned and operated several gift shops, including "Quail Crossing". Nothing gave her more joy than gathering with friends and family at home, or spending time in her backyard sanctuary gardening or enjoying the wildlife she would feed daily. She loved exploring Arizona. Mary also enjoyed following the Arizona Diamondbacks. And we all got a kick out of her special knack of finding the hottest video poker machine in the casino. She was a woman who epitomized kindness, generosity and good cheer. She always looked for the good in people. And usually found it. She was able to keep a positive attitude and a smile on her face no matter what life threw her way. She was a gentle soul who was not afraid to laugh at herself. And she believed the world would be a better place if we all practiced kindness toward one another. We are blessed to have had her in our lives.Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John Morgan and Kim Upton of Corona, CA; daughter Nancy Brink and her husband Tom of Fort Collins, CO, daughter Elaine Bodette of Burlington, VT and daughter Brenda Morgan Connor of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Charla, James & Sean Lain, Cliff & Clint Brink and Richard Connor; great grandchildren, Jasmine & Keila Arriaga, Devon, Ashlynne, Cody, Bailey, Cory & Stefanie Lain and Julia Rose Brink. She was preceded in by her husband, Mathew Mike Tikva on August 29, 2002.The family would like to acknowledge the kindness and care of the Hospice of Lake Havasu and neighbors Gary and Sandy Peters.A celebration of Mary's life will be held at 3659 Hatteras Lane, LHC on Sunday, April 18 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405 or the Western Arizona Humane Society, 1100 Empire Dr., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86404.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
