Obituary of Glen Lyle Watland

Glen Watland passed away July 18th at home in Lake Havasu City at the age of 83.
Glen was born in Minot, ND to Clarence and Clara Watland. He graduated from Minot Model High. He served in the navy for four years during the Korean War. He returned to Minot and worked for the Minot Daily News. He married Beulah (Bonnie) Pullen in 1952 and had two daughters. He married Marlene Eisler LaCoste in 1965. Glen and Marlene moved to Everett, WA where he was employed at the Seattle Times.
Glen was an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, archery, RC airplanes, and was a member of the Gold Seekers Club. He was a five time ND State Archery Champion. He was listed in the Pope and Young Bow Hunters record book for a Roosevelt Elk. He was a self taught guitar player, ham radio operator, and oil & watercolor artist.
Glen is survived by daughters, Pattie (Jim) Larson of Fargo, ND, Debra (Eric) Mohr of Alexandria, MN, Marie Watland Gardner of Mt Vernon, WA; and son, Mark (Sue) Watland of Arlington, WA; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marlene; and his sister, Darlene; brother-in-law, Chris Conard and one great-grandchild.
No services are planned. He will be laid to rest in Everett, WA.
