Obituary of Bernard FARRELL

Bernard P. Farrell, 72, passed away on June 6, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born at home in Curlen, IA on February 18, 1932.Bernard attended a country schoolhouse and graduated from Silver Lake High School, upon which he joined the U.S. Army. He served in Korea from 1953 to 1956. Upon leaving the army he moved himself and his bride to Colorado for the next 20 years. Bernard ran a variety of businesses from restaurants to subdivisions. He also began his lifelong career of developing real estate from Idaho Springs to Grand Junction, CO. He moved his family to Lake Havasu City, AZ; in 1978, after passing thru the town on vacation. Over the years he owned, developed and sold many businesses in the city. These include currently the Golden Horseshoe in Lake Havasu City, AZ; and Northshore RV Resort in Needles, CA.He is survived by his wife of 52 years Betty Ann; daughter Kellie; sons Shawn and Todd; 8 grandchildren, Lisa and Shawn Jr. Farrell, Christopher and Gina Cassidy, Melinda, Dorothy and Nina Hickman, Haley Farrell and 2 great grandchildren Quinton Farrell and Maliana Cassidy, brothers James and Robert Farrell. Bernard was preceded in death by his sister Mary E. Farrell.Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will be held at the Golden Horseshoe restaurant following graveside services.Donations can be made in Bernard's name to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
