Marion Suzanne Haugsness, 84, passed away June 12, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born June 26, 1919 in Wilmette, IL, the eldest of 4 daughters of George and Agnes (DeGroot) Baumiller, and granddaughter of John R. DeGroot, a Grosse Point (Wilmette), IL pioneer and early Chicago manufacturer from Holland.Marion traveled widely throughout the western U.S. with former husband, Stan Jones, of Page, AZ. They regularly came to Site Six, Lake Havasu to fish for Bass from the (then) US Naval Base in Twentynine Palms, CA during the mid 1940's. Marion retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company in 1975.She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Laurence Haugsness, who took care of her during a later infirmity for over ten years. They moved to Lake Havasu City in 1993. Marion's beautiful smile and deep devoted love of family, friends and "all things great and small" will be missed by many.Marion is survived by three of her children, Sherry (Jones) Wagoner and Jeanine Jones of Lake Havasu City and Ralph R. Jones of San Bernardino, CA; stepson, Kenneth Haugsness of Buffalo Grove, IL; sisters, Louise (Baumiller) Kivland of Arlington Hts, IL and Lillian (Baumiller) Ludwig of Prairie View, IL; sisters-in-law, Margaret Haugsness of Littleton, CO and Jean Clayburn of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Ralph A. "Skip" Jones of Grayslake, IL and John Haugsness of Buffalo Grove, IL and two great grandchildren.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
