John Mason Martin, 77, entered into eternal life on Sunday, August 8, 2004, at Havasu Regional Medical Center. He was born January 6, 1927 to Robert John Martin and Marian Martin in Gardena, California.John served in WWII as a medical and x-ray technician and was awarded a Victory Medal. He was a student at USC, Los Angeles, California with a liberal arts major. He studied man and civilization, psychology, chemistry and English and achieved his degree as an industrial psychologist.John became a very well known industrial psychologist in the Los Angeles, California area, working primarily with the supermarket industry and used his "God Given" abilities to work with and help many people.He married Della Stuart in Catalina, California on February 16, 1974. Their son, Mark Wayne Martin, was born on January 25, 1975 and was known to be the light of his father's life.He served for 21 years as a Sheriff's Reserve in Los Angeles, California. The Sheriff's Chaplain performed the christening of his son, Mark.John loved music, reading and continuing education. He was a great outdoorsman who loved boating, fishing, mountain climbing, golf and gardening.One of his proudest moments was receiving his certification as a Master Gardener. He graduated on June 3, 2004 and would want to thank his many friends and mentors for getting him to that point. He spoke of you all so highly and enjoyed the process so greatly.John would want to say to Don Kulha, a friend for over 40 years, and the Godfather of his son, many thanks for all the years we had together. And to Ila and Dar Talbott, he would say thanks for being a great mentor, Godmother to our son, and so much more - you made life so very beautiful.He is survived by his loving wife, Della; his son, Mark and daughter-in-law, Emmanuelle and their two children, Emilie Ann and Lea Elisabeth; as well as his sister Dora Ferguson of Lake Havasu City; brother, Walter Richter and his wife Jeannie of San Diego; and several nieces and nephews, along with so many of his extended family and friends.Memorial services are pending.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
