On Monday, July 20, 2015, James Earl Amos passed away, beginning his last great ride into the unknown. His life was filled with adventure, exploration, laughter, love and bizarre circumstance.
James was born in Wheeling, W.VA., in 1948. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps at 19 and served with honor in Vietnam.
James had been a motorcycle enthusiast for most of his life and had traveled throughout the U.S. and parts of Mexico and Canada. Locally, James worked at the Mineral Park Mine since its opening.
He is survived by his wife, Bettye K. Amos; his daughters, Sherry Ann Phillips and Crystal Crosley; and his stepson, Christopher S. Knott.
Celebration of life services will be announced.
