Obituary of John CORDES

John Ernest Cordes, 66, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2004 at his home. He was born March 12, 1938 in San Jose, CA; to Frederick and Elizabeth (Hixson) Cordes.John was raised in Cloverdale, CA; and graduated from Healdsburg High School, then attended Santa Rose Junior College before joining the military. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1976 after 20 years of service.In 1979, John married Karen Lundeen Driver in Fairfield, CA. John and Karen moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 10 years ago from Magalia, CA. They both were members of Mount Olive Lutheran Church of Lake Havasu City, AZ.John is survived by his wife of 25 years, Karen; daughter Kim (Cordes) Irey of Wellington, KS; his mother Elizabeth Jayne Cordes of Cloverdale, CA; granddaughters, Kayla and Kiley Cragun of Wellington, KS; stepson Terrence (Julie) Driver and their children Nicholas and Elizabeth, all of Colorado Springs, CO; uncle Ed McPherson; sister-in-law, Joan (Jim) Anderson of CA; brothers-in-law Rodney (Naomi) Lundeen and Curtis (Lavonne) Lundeen, all of Minnesota; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. His first wife, Carol Gilmore Cordes, and his father Frederick Cordes, preceded John in death. Private services will be held in Kelseyville, CA. In lieu of flowers, donation are requested to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ. 86405Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
