Obituary of John BENZIGER

Jack Benziger, age 85, passed away on October 5th, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on July 20th, 1919 in Chicago, ILL. Jack moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 30 years ago from Chicago, ILL. His was a retired fireman for the Chicago Fire Dept.; and proudly served in the U. S. Army, WWII. Jack was a member of the Knights of Columbus, V.F.W. Post #9401, D.A.V. Chapter 27 - past commander, National Order of Battlefield Commission, 87th, Infantry Division Association and Veterans of Battle of the Bulge. Jack is survived by his loving wife Teresa Benziger of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sons John Benziger II of Georgetown, TX; Jayme Benziger of Elgin, TX; daughters Joan E. Burke of Rock Island, ILL; Jeannine M. Frew of Cottonwood, AZ; and 6 step-children; sister Barbara H. Witz of Illinois; 9 grandchildren, l great grandchild, 14 step- grandchildren, 6 step- great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A rosary will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church on Monday, October 11th, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. A memorial mass will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Father Charles Murphy officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #9401.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations can be made in Jack's name to the charity of your choice.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
