Obituary of George SOWERBY

George Thomas Sowerby, 83, passed away October 8, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Fred and Catherine (Koeppen) Sowerby on August 29, 1921 in Thayer, IL.George was a proud veteran in the US Army during WWII. He was an insurance salesman for K of C in Grand Rapids for 20 years. He then moved to Lake Havasu and has resided here since 1984. George was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.George is survived by his beloved bride of 64 years, Rhea; sons, George Sowerby of Fraser, MI, Carl Sowerby and his wife Elizabeth of St. Clair Shores, MI and Robert Sowerby of Grand Rapids, MI; brother, Herman Sowerby and one sister, Catherine Bossenbury. He will also be dearly missed by his granddaughters, Lynn, Shelley, Suzanne, Kelly, Deanna and Rondi; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Paul, Kara, Andrew, Alaina, Grant, Brendon, Hannah, Rebekah, Shian and Timothy.A memorial mass will be held Wednesday, October 13, 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to go in George's name to Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 1975 Daytona Ave., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
