Kathryn (Kay) Kelley passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home Monday, November 8, 2004. She was born October 23, 1925 to William and Adelaide English in Santa Maria, CA. The family moved to Monterey Park, CA shortly after.After she graduated from High School, she went to work for AT&T in Los Angeles where she worked until she married her devoted husband of 56 years, Rudy Kelley. They made their first home in Rosemead, CA and in 1956 they moved to Glendora, CA where they raised their two daughters. They first discovered Lake Havasu in the late 1950's while water skiing and camping at Havasu Landing. Later they would occasionally fly to Havasu for a day or weekend and were amazed that it was "making it". They moved here in July, 1990 after Rudy retired. Kay resumed water skiing after a twenty-five year hiatus, and skied until her 70's, but her favorite activity was tennis, where she met most of her good friends. She was forced to quit playing in 2002 by Multiple Sclerosis.Kay is survived by her husband, Rudy; daughter Cheryl (Jerry Coons) of Valle, AZ; daughter, Joanne (Bill Tinnelly) of Upland, CA; granddaughter, Kristen (Rich Lucero) of Ladera Ranch, CA; grandson, Greg Tinnelly (Heather) of Lake Havasu City; great grandson, John Tinnelly; great granddaughter, Brenna Lucero and a brother, Allen English (Norma) of Santa Maria, CA.She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Janice Colleen Kelley and two brothers.She will be greatly missed by her family whom she loved so much, but they will have many wonderful memories of her, always.A funeral service will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2170 Havasupai Blvd., Lake Havasu City. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 14 and will be officiated by Pastor Mel Soderberg. There will not be a burial service.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
