Minnie Elizabeth Kendig, a 5 year resident of Lake Havasu City, died December 4, 2004 at Lake Havasu Regional Hospital at the age of 101. She was born on September 11, 1903 to Ida Johnson Anderson and Nels B. Anderson. Her parents came from Sweden and settled on a farm near Gothenburg, NEB; in the 1880's. She attended schools in Gothenburg and completed nurse's training in Omaha, NEB. Minnie married Norman L. Kendig on October 1928 and resided in Hastings, NEB. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Presbyterians Women, Shrine Auxiliary and was a 66 year member of Eastern Star.She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Jones and husband Fred, of McDonough, GA; son John Kendig and wife Ellen of Lake Havasu City, AZ; four grandchildren, Jeff Kendig, Kathy Kendig, Ann Dey, Eric Dey and one great- granddaughter, Brittany Kendig.Funeral services will be held at the Butler-Volland Funeral Chapel in Hastings, NEB; at a later date. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, NEB.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church, 621 N. Lincoln Ave; Hastings, NEB. 68901.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
