Betty Jean Keys passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Lake Hills Inn Nursing Home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born to Robert and Esther Miller on March 16, 1922 in Pomona, CA. Betty's life was about giving and not surprising. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, where she was able to express her generosity with no boundaries. Her kind encouraging words and her positive can-do attitude will forever be cherished and remembered by those she touched.Betty enjoyed the outdoors and being with family. In 1960's she planned and prepared weekend trips to the Salton Sea, motor homing in the 1970's and 80's , and finally settling in Lake Havasu City in the early 1990's. Throughout her life, spending time each summer at the ocean was most enjoyable for her.Betty is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 57 years, Ed, son Michael Keys of Lake Havasu City, AZ; daughters Carol Kelly of Mission Viejo, CA; Kathy Vitale of San Marcos, CA; brother, Robert Miller Jr. of San Dimas, CA; 2 granddaughters Sidra and Sheila and 3 great grandchildren Curtis, Shyara and Michael Jr.For those who loved and knew her were certainly touched by an angel.A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 1:00 pm with Father Charles Deptula officiating. Inurnment will be at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Betty's name to A.P. John Institute for Cancer Research, 67 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT. 06830 Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
