Obituary of Quinto POLIDORI

Please share a memory of Quinto to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Thursday, 17 February 2005, family, friends and the community at large experienced a great sense of loss and sorrow with the passing of one of its longtime residents and local businessmen. Quinto Leo Polidori, 64, patriarch, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away quietly, at home, surrounded by his immediate family. In his signature way, Quinto defeated the stereotypical, debilitating and disabling disease on his own terms. His long, heroic battle against cancer was accomplished by the sheer force of his strong-willed and determined, purpose-driven character that he exercised daily on everything else in his life.In Civitella Del Tronto, Teramo, Italy, on 05 May 1940, Quinto was born to Natale Polidori and Carolina Ianpieri and was the youngest of five children. He worked in both Italy and Switzerland as a mason's apprentice prior to immigrating to America. Quinto came by boat, and arrived in Rochester, New York in 1965. Before long, he established "Quinto's Construction Company" and ten years later, in 1975 moved to Lake Havasu City, where he purchased "Mohave Concrete and A-Block Company".In 1981, Quinto met Veronica, the love of his life; his perfectly matched life-partner and business partner. He was demanding but always the very loving and devoted family man. This charmer, one-of-a-kind individual; this gifted craftsman and visionary; this fascinating businessman with the "Midas Touch"; this man-of-the-earth, tough-guy with his powerful personality and colorful character brought his dream company to great local success. Through his many, fearless sacrifices and his undaunting willingness to risk it all, Quinto attained his vision and life-long goals. In 1996, he sold his pride and joy but, remained constantly busy with many other personal and business interests, one being his contracting company, "Poli-Gold". In 2002, the opportunity arose to buy back his former concrete company. With his strong, proud character and aggressive nature he purchased it and renamed it "Sunshine Concrete Company" and brought it back to its former glory.Quinto is survived by his wife, Veronica Marion Polidori (Nee: Davis); his children; Natale Leo, Marcello Milo, Laya Anne, Adriana Maria McManus, and Anton; his grandchildren; Olivia Carmela and Lukas Mark; his nephew Peter Tiburzi; and his siblings; Pacina, Benito, Guiseppe, and Santina. This proud, warm, kind, big-hearted and generous personality touched many a soul throughout his life. This overpowering force-of-nature demanded nothing in return but your best. Quinto was "The Boss" and always lived his way or no way! Those that had the opportunity to truly know him loved him for this unique way of touching your life and forever changing it.In memory of this well-loved man, a Hospice House will be built and donated in Quinto's name to the community of Lake Havasu City. It will be made available to help support all families facing a similar journey as Quinto and the Polidori Family. In lieu of flowers, it was Quinto's wish that any donations be sent to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86405, to contribute to his final memorial. The Polidori Family invites all of Quinto's friends and acquaintances who hold a special place in their heart for him to join them in a visitation that will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Sunday, February 20, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. along with a rosary said at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Michael Deptula officiating. Burial will take place in Civitella Del Tronto, Teramo, Italy. For all that knew him, loved him, and miss him bid him Buon Viaggio and fond farewell. You will be sorely missed and you leave a vacancy here that will never be filled. We Love You Quinto!Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
