Raymond "Uncle Ray" P. Scarlett, 62, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2005 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on February 3, 1943 in Detroit, MI. Uncle Ray moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 15 years ago from Paramount, CA. He worked as a truck driver in California for 27 years. Uncle Ray proudly served in the U.S. Navy and also started bikers against drunk drivers (B.A.D.D.). Uncle Ray loved riding his Harley and traveling the United States. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren,enjoyed camping and fishing and was an avid animal lover. Uncle Ray is survived by his wife Dory Carroll-Scarlett, sons Raymond Paul Scarlett Jr. of Colorado, Jeffrey Allen Scarlett of California, Gary Layne Scarlett of Oregon, Glenn Allen Scarlett of Colorado, daughter Dawn Marie Scarlett of Colorado, step-sons Kevin Carroll and wife Sue Ellen of California, Paul Carroll and wife Susan of Bullhead City, AZ; brothers Stanley James Scarlett and Rodger Scarlett both of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sister Debbie Beayrd (his other brother) of California, mother Virginia Jansen of Lake Havasu City, AZ; numerous grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Stanley James Scarlett and daughter Brenda Gaye Scarlett. Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Thursday, February 24, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Friday, February 25, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. with Chaplain Jeromy Wells officiating. Uncle Ray will be scattered along with his dog Mitzi Sue in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
