Victoria Izora Johnson was born in Tempe, AZ on November 27, 1962. Vicki died at home surrounded by her loved ones on February 27, 2005. She was 42 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Donna Johnson.Vicki attended school in Kingman, AZ. She was a Junior Peace Corp member traveling to Guatemala as a teenager, educating children on the importance of health and especially dental care. After graduating from high school, she worked in the lab at Mohave General Hospital as a phlebotomist. She then went to A.S.U. to study drama and nursing. She came back to Kingman to take care of her mother and graduated with an Associate's Degree in nursing from M.C.C. After graduating, she began working at Kingman Regional Medical Center as a medical surgical nurse. She then transferred to the ICU-CCU, where she worked for 16 years and then she worked ER and ICU for several more years.During her many years at KRMC, Vicki also received her BSN from the Northern Arizona University. She found time to work as a nurse examiner for Sarah's House; she worked a short stint as a flight nurse; and also as a "Nursing Clinical Instructor" at M.C.C.Vicki was active in the Mohave Community Orchestra as a flutist and a member of the governing board.She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001. She fought to survive each and every complication that came her way.Many thanks to Dr. Govan, Br. Bokhari and Dr. Malik for their "never-ending" support and care during Vicki's illness. Also, many thanks to her family of friends at KRMC for their prayers, their understanding, their love and never-ending support during Vicki's life and illness.We must remember that Vicki "lived" until she died. There will be a service in celebration of Vicki's life at Grace Lutheran Church on Thursday, March 3rd at 4:00 PM.In lieu of flowers, Vicki requested that contributions be made to the Mohave Community Orchestra, PO Box 6182, Kingman, AZ 86401.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
